We started out our first full day visiting North of Puerto Vallarta in Sayulita and San Pancho (where our friends live). Sayulita is the cute little surfing town that was packed and provided great people watching. San Pancho is a quiet town with the magnificent sunset and amazing burrito's!! It was great to see Jeremy and Nicole's new adventure and how great they've grasped the culture, learned the language, and met a ton of equally adventurous people who've picked up and packed their belongings to this wonderful little town. I think i've convinced myself that living their one year would be a great adventure, now i just have to convince Jason! :)<br /><br />On Tuesday we swam with the dolphins (awesome) and hung out in Puerto Vallarta. Little did we know, Easter is a two-week celebration in Mexico. The schools are closed and the inlanders head to the beach towns...so the places were packed! Again, great people watching and suddenly I realize all the things I didn't take pictures of! There was the guy balancing rocks on the beach which i did get, but there were some incredible sand sculptures, these creepy live statues, and a fun amphitheater with a large gathering to watch the pantomime (non of which we took pictures of?). One thing Puerto didn't deliver on was great food! We were desperately looking for great authentic Mexican or tasty fresh seafood....and we struggled to get either there! We did eat at Icarumba's which overlooked all of the bay so at least there was great scenery which helped pass the 2 hours it took to get our flaming fajitas!<br /><br />Wednesday we headed back to the busy little surf town and spent the day laying on the beach and shopping for gifts for B to take to her friends. She loved all the bracelets and trinkets so we didn't have the heart to tell her they were made in China! :) That is the same day she learned the valuable lesson of never hesitating when approached by someone on the beach to buy something. She contemplated having her hair braided and as soon as the Seniorita saw there was a chance, she followed us down the beach and approached us 4 times before B finally gave in and got her cute little braids. I think it took the lady 30 seconds to do all the braids.<br /><br />Thursday was our last full day and we headed out for the zip line adventure. After our cab driver nearly got us into a fight with another car load of rather large Hispanic men... we arrived safely at our meeting point. Another hour drive south down the coast we saw some beautiful real estate and more little villages before we actually got to the zip line tour where our driver, Carlos, says to us, "after the zipline we'll hang out for an hour &amp; a half. I am your driver, I'll stay parked right here, and we'll meet here." So, we got fitted for our harness, had a lovely family photo taken in Sombrero's (unfortunately i wasn't able to scan that picture in, dang!) and headed out for 10 different zip lines all weaving back and forth over the rocks and water you see in our pictures. The zipline was awesome - i wish i could have taken my camera and got some pictures there, it was crazy fun!! After we were done we had some chips and salsa and headed out to the rocks and river. We spent an hour or so and headed out to our van - no Carlos. we walked around a bit more, still no Carlos. Finally, the photographer tracked us down to inform us that the plan had changed (unbeknownst to us) and the rest of the tours had already left..... hmmm, ok. Finally, a sweet local man who worked for the zip line took us in his own car the 1-1/2 hour drive back to our hotel so we didn't have to wait. Super nice guy...Hindsight, glad it all worked out ok! Not sure that i would ordinarily recommend getting in to a strangers car in a foreign country! :)<br /><br />Since it was our last night we showered up and hopped back in a cab for another hour drive north to spend our last night on the San Pancho beach, having another tasty shrimp burrito, and hanging with Jeremy and Nicole at Panchito's (their palapa). It is the best to listen to their stories of starting a business in a foreign country! The water was freezing...but so worth it! We spent 45 minutes kissing, hugging, petting, and riding on 2 dolphins, one of which is pregnant. We were told during the kiss photo that it is rare for both dolphins to give a kiss so it is was exciting when they both loved up to Jason. <br /><br />The sea lion's pirate smile is the best! The first game was spectacular! B has some amazing defense skills! There was one point we thought she may have forgotten she was playing basketball when she nearly opted to run over the girl she was guarding...oops!<br /><br />The second game gave them some opportunities for improvement - but they still looked good and through all the tears, had some fun too. I officially have a running buddy and I love it!! Bailey has really become a strong runner and has decided that after she joins her dad and I for the Barber to Boise 5k, her and I are going to tackle a 10k together. I can't wait!!<br /><br />We realized that since monday bailey had ran 9 miles between xc practice, a meet, and our race. Today we headed to the foothills and ran a couple more to make 11 miles for her this week. Makes for an interesting background....<br />All in all, a fun ride with only one minor off-roading accident where bailey had a little scuffle with some sagebrush. She was quite happy she made it off the trails without any serious "warrior bites" as we've come to name the big war wounds she's suffered a time or two! One "test" gallon of paint down and another trip to Lowe's, and our living room is a masterpiece! We did have to have the conversation that there is no puking on the first day, her nerves were sky high and i thought she may hyperventilate trying to calm herself...but she pulled it together and informed me that the days of walking her in to school...were over! So sad, but she was excited!! I asked what she was most looking forward to and she was quick to say she couldn't wait to not have to line up at the door and quietly walk single file through the halls. The first day proved to be a success when the halls were complete chaos and kids were yelling at one another in excitement!<br /></div><br /><div>Bailey signed up for her first year playing the clarinet. An amazingly, GLORIOUS day in Augusta, GA!<br /><br />Equally as glorious was the weather in Boise and the match up of the Harp &amp; Kearn's family Easter celebration, and in recognition of the Masters we went to the Hillcrest Country Club. That's like being at the Masters, right??!! It was on the way to brunch that I learned a statistic I was previously very unaware of; nearly 78% of all husbands were angry at their wives today for planning brunch during the Superbowl-like golf event?????? We just got her final grade and she received an "advanced" grade on presentation delivery and I couldn't agree more! She did awesome and her class is going on to participate in another district presentation on the 18th. Oh, we drove the 15 miles out to the haunted woods and we got in line to buy tickets.... but when the haunted woods characters came out of their staging area to head to their post in the woods... 4 girls went SCREAMING and running out to the parking lot, one of the girls tried to get in the wrong car, one tried to climb under the car...they all finally piled into the right car &amp; quickly locked the door. Since we couldn't take pictures this morning i made her pose for me tonight and just pretend she was getting ready to leave for school...however you'll notice the grass stain on the knee which i am sure wasn't there this morning!<br /><br />I asked bailey last night if she was super excited for school to start & her answer was classic... "Yeah, i'm ready for it to start, just not tomorrow".... Apparently it dawned on her that she would have to be out of bed before 11am! <br /><br />That reminds me of a funny story from one day this summer: jason was mowing the lawn about 10 o'clock one morning and kept looking in the windows checking for any signs of life (from bailey or gracie!) since bailey had a hair appointment at 11:30. We went to Owyhee Resevoir which we were told was the "Lake Powell" of our area. I don't know about that, but it was beautiful and offered fantastic water skiing! Of course i forgot the camera on the first day and missed some great shots of both jason & bailey skiing, the entire group - including the doodle swimming, and robbie dunn's Olympic Medal winning flip from the boat!!! I did however catch some fun shots on the boat this morning... a couple of them were so cute i just couldn't mix them in with all the others!! A few weekends ago my family participated in the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life. It is a 24 hour relay designed to raise money for cancer awareness. We raised 85 thousand dollars so it was a great success!! In addition to the fund raising efforts there are all kinds of activities to participate in. This year, bailey and her friend tiffany competed in the Boise Kid Idol contest. With 4 prizes available - grand prize, 1st, 2nd, &amp; 3rd..... Jason left for his guys golf trip...watch out Tucson... which left some free time on my hands to figure out why our computer wouldn't upload pictures. Come to find out it was the operator... who knew??? Anywho... Jason missed one of bailey's dance performances Friday night (he did see her big end of the year hoorah a couple of weekends ago) but did (lucky for him) miss 52 performances Friday night. Don't get me wrong, bailey's 2 dances were SPECTACULAR but the other 50 performances, mainly solo's, many of which were very dramatic ballets performed by some VERY dramatic teenage girls (hard to imagine i know!) was a bit much!<br /><br />I did try to get some video footage... (kim be jealous of my mad skills... and be ready to give me a lesson on my camera next time we see you guys....which by the way will hopefully be soooooon because we are all homesick for Utah!!!)<br /><br />So... the video clip that i took Friday night is way to big to upload so i went ahead an attached a clip from a previous performance. It isn't as good as the clip from Friday night because there was another girl in the way, but look close and you'll see our kiddo. We couldn't get a picture of bailey in action....but did get a picture of her in front of the lit tree. After the performance bailey got to go up in part of the Capitol building to hear the 1st Lady read a Christmas story and get her picture taken with the Govenor. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Tuesday the 12th, KBCI channel 2 will be taping "Christmas at the Cathedral" where the Andrus honor choir will be performing again. The Cathedral of the Rockies is a beautiful historical Cathedral in downtown Boise. The 4th grade honor choir may make it on the evening news! Of course i didn't have the camera for any of those events.... but i did manage to take it for our next little adventure...</div><div></div><div><br /></div><div>Jason and i hung out in Seattle last weekend and had a great time! we shopped a 12 block radius from our Hotel, which was 3 blocks from Pikes Market. 2 days with a 2-story Ann Taylor and Nike &amp; a 4-story Nordy's; we had a blast. We did take the monorail over to the Space Needle and attempted to take in a little history.... we decided to shop our way back to the hotel instead! It was chilly!!
